Olive or Twist - Liberty of the Seas
We recently had the chance to complete a fantastic Caribbean sailing on Liberty of the Seas, a freedom-class ship for Royal Caribbean. One of the highlights of cruising for us is the chance to try new drinks and explore all the bars and restaurants, without the guilt of having to waste food or drinks we did not like (hello drinking package!). One of the absolute coolest bars on Liberty is the Olive or Twist; by day it is a super serene place to just hang out and relax, and at night it turns into something a little more.. fun. Location
It’s not just the cocktails that shine at Olive or Twist, the location is super special too. It is all the way at the tip top of the ship in Royal’s iconic Viking Crown section. We for one are really bummed these areas are not on the newer classes of ship. This allows the Olive and Twist to have panoramic views forward, port, and starboard making Olive or Twist a great area to watch the ship come and go from port or just sail from. As you recline in plush seating and savor your beverage of choice, you're treated to sweeping vistas of the ocean through floor-to-ceiling windows. The ever-changing hues of the sky, the gentle sway of the waves, and the distant horizon create a mesmerizing backdrop for your afternoon of indulgence.
Ambiance
So we have talked about how much fun Olive or Twist is to enjoy during the day - but the fun does not stop there. At night Olive or Twist turns into another exciting venue. Most nights on our cruise the space was transformed from chill relaxing lounge to the vibrant energy of a night club or karaoke space. It was always a good time to listen to live music (and maybe even sing some yourself) with your fellow cruisers.
Drinks and Service
One of the hallmarks of the Olive or Twist is the impressive array of handcrafted cocktails, expertly curated by the ship's talented mixologists. Whether you're a connoisseur of classic concoctions or eager to explore innovative flavor combinations, the extensive menu caters to every palate. Sip on a timeless martini, infused with a modern twist, or opt for a refreshing mojito infused with fresh mint and zesty lime. Each drink is meticulously crafted using premium spirits, fresh ingredients, and artisanal garnishes, ensuring a sensory journey like no other. There was the full menu of Royal Caribbean classics on offer here, but also there is a full and complete bar - so try what your heart desires!
