NCL Announces Philadelphia as a New Homeport for 2026 Season!

Exciting news coming for cruisers in the North East! Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that Philadelphia will be the new home port for the Norwegian Jewel for the 2026 summer season! Read on to learn everything we know about this exciting new announcement!

Norwegian Cruise Line has started to release its 2026 spring/summer itineraries. These voyages span the Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Alaska, and Canada/New England, with a super cool new addition. In 2026 there will be a selection of cruises departing from the Port of Philadelphia (PhilaPort) for the first time in many years. This is great news for cruisers who either do not like flying, or those who prefer to sail close to where they live and can drive.

Starting April 16, 2026, Norwegian Jewel will offer seven-to-nine-day cruises to Bermuda, marking Philadelphia as a new embarkation point. Departing from the SouthPort Marine Terminal Complex, which is being developed in collaboration with local government, these Bermuda itineraries will include overnight stays at Royal Naval Dockyard. If you have been following us for a while, you know that we love an overnight in Bermuda. This will give guests ample time to explore Bermuda’s turquoise waters and pink-sand beaches.

As far as we know, Norwegian is the only cruise line planning to set sail from Philadelphia in the coming years. David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line, expressed, "We remain committed to delivering more experiences for our guests to create unforgettable memories, so they can vacation better with us. We are particularly proud to partner with PhilaPort to launch cruising in the area, making it even more accessible to the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region."

Jeff Theobald, Executive Director and CEO of PhilaPort, added, "The Port of Philadelphia is extremely excited to partner with Norwegian Cruise Line, one of the world’s premier cruise lines. Philadelphia, the birthplace of freedom and home to much of our nation’s history, offers so much to cruisers. This new service enhances our portfolio and heralds a new phase of growth."
