They are super unique because they can often be placed in locations that could not support a traditional framed house and their size and potential orientation can allow a fun and quirky interior designer to truly make a container their own.

Container in the Catskills
Saugerties, New York. 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom.
The hosts guarantee a stay in this amazing container is not just an overnight stay, but a true experience! This container home is designed to be super comfortable in all 4 seasons. In the summer - prop all the doors open and truly enjoy indoor/outdoor living, and in the winter close up the doors, cut on the wood stove and enjoy the wilderness through the huge windows. This property is semi glamping. There is a composting toilet and an outdoor battery powered shower - but it does not skimp out on the comfort. One of the coolest things about this container is the waterfall on property. Only a few hundred feet away from the container! Container in the Desert with Striking Mountain Views

This fun container is called the Steel Pueblo. It will allow you truly maximize your time in the Taos area with stunning views right from where you lay your head at night. Here you can enjoy your coffee as the sun rises or sip your wine as the sun sets and feel truly at peace. The patio flows right into the living space, which is bright and colorful and contrasts well with the surrounding desert. The bedroom has a comfy queen bed, but you’ll hardly notice because of the stunning floor to ceiling window. You are far enough at way to enjoy the break from the hustle and bustle, but at night you can just make out the lights from town twinkling. The Green Creek Shipyard

This amazing rental was once a 40’ shipping container, and is now one of the most unique short term rentals in the area! The inside is thoughtfully designed to maximize your comfort and even features a full kitchen and luxury bathroom. The inside is anchored by the huge 10’ tall working garage door that brings the patio and interior together into one large living space. Outside there is a fire pit, a pond to lounge by, and a hot tub - all capped off by the spiral staircase and rooftop deck! The views from this epic tiny container home are just breathtaking! This container is definitely a place you can relax and unwind. Come here to disconnect, there is no Wi-Fi or TV. Make s’mores at the fire pit or slowly sway on the porch swing and you will forget all about the hustle and bustle of the real world. This tiny container home features all that you need for a relaxing escape, including a fully functional kitchen (mini fridge, induction cooktop, and convection microwave), a queen bed, a full bathroom, and of course that view! This rental is not suitable for pets or children under the age of 13, as it is situated on the bluff of the mountain. This awesome treehouse, built out of 4 shipping containers, has to be to one of the most unique treehouses we have seen! The interior has a modern farmhouse style. After waking up with an incredible view, move outside to 1 of 5 balconies, including the 3rd floor screened porch with hot tub or to the 6th floor crows-nest 50’ in the air. Here you can connect with nature and the environment and come across many local animals. There are lots of trails you can hike and bike. This cozy container is nestled in the woods and is ready to welcome you for a relaxing getaway in the popular Hocking Hills area. You will be surrounded by 30 acres of woods just 2 miles from Old Man's Cave. This container is so popular, and it is easy to see why! It is simply gorgeous. Centered on 18.5 acres in Hocking Hills, The Box Hop is made out of 3 intermodal shipping containers that have been transformed into this amazing vacation rental. We just can’t get over how amazing the view from the hot tub is! Another highlight is the all season indoor/outdoor living - there is a gas fireplace for the winter, and an “all glass” garage door with access to the rooftop patio for summer cocktails and sunbathing! The "Appalachian Container Cabin" is a modern tiny home with an unparalleled view overlooking the Appalachian Trail, built out of shipping containers, and was even featured on TV - on the new HGTV/DIY show "Containables!” The cabin is located at the end of private road deep within the Nantahala National Forest, so you will definitely find peace and solitude. If you are ready to ever leave that view, you will be located conveniently between Franklin, North Carolina and Clayton, Georgia - plus close to all there is to explore in the mountains. This container is easily the most luxury one on this list! It is dripping extreme comfort and unique luxury touches in every corner. Every room in the container and every inch of the deck has great lakeside views of Saluda Lake. Large window pane garage doors open to reveal the bedroom, living area, and even bathroom for the perfect indoor/outdoor luxury living! This is also extremely romantic - there is a king bed, robes provided, and his and hers soaking tubs on the deck. This container is only 20 minutes from Downtown Greenville, SC - one of our favorite places for a weekend getaway. The Container at Camp Toccoa

This unique studio container in the mountains is the perfect romantic escape. The outdoor areas of this rental are immaculate. There is a great deck with a table for meals and a hot tub for relaxing. The fire pit looks like an incredible place to unwind in the evening after spending your day exploring the area. Speaking of exploring the area - you will be close to it all. Blue Ridge is only 5 miles south and the famous Lake Blue Ridge is only 6 miles southeast. There are several amazing hikes, wineries, and waterfalls in the area. This is a tiny house but still boasts amenities like a mini fridge, a microwave, and Keurig, and a toaster oven. Lavish Shipping Container Retreat

You will definitely enjoy your stay at Dream Mountain Utah! This incredible vacation rental has been converted from two shipping containers, and is now a super luxury space that has incredible views, a sauna, and the most incredible deck. Can you imagine watching the sunrise over the mountains with a warm cup of coffee, or sit out and gaze at the stars as you sip your evening wine? Inside there is a lux master suite with huge tub, a queen bedroom, and several smart TVs ready to welcome you back after your day of exploring the area. This beautiful container home looks like such a magical escape. We have never quite seen anything like the outdoor area of this rental. The swinging bed over the water, the waterfall, the fire pit, and the hot tub combine to create an experience you are sure to love. Inside the container, there is a kitchenette, a walk i rainfall shower, and a king size bed. You truly would never have to leave this retreat if you didn’t want to.
