1 . Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got started with hosting? We got started hosting after doing long term rentals for the last 20 years. We love managing rentals and decided we would like to provide a welcoming home for when people are just passing through for a short period of time.
2. What inspired you to choose Georgia as the location for your short term rentals? Georgia is our home state and we love it here. The wide variety of what Georgia has to offer makes it the perfect place to vacation.
3. How do you go about selecting and preparing your properties for guests? We want guests to feel at home when they walk through our door. We love providing everything they will need so they don't have to pack up the house or go out and buy extra things to have to take back home. We also like to provide things to do at our properties so if they just want to relax and enjoy the property they can.
4. What sets your rentals apart from others in the area? We strive to be clean and welcoming for each guest that chooses to stay with us.
5. Can you recall a particular memory you have where a guest had a great time, or there was a memorable guest for you to host? We love when guests just feel right at home and tell me they couldn't have asked for more. We also love hearing this is the best AirBNB we have ever stayed in!
6. Do you have any local spots or hidden gems you want guests to know about? We have our favorite spots at each one of our properties. We include lots of suggestions in our digital guidebooks for guests!
7. You have several great properties, do you have a favorite? We have a favorite thing about each of our properties. On The Rocks Ellijay we love the game room, Cartecay River Retreat we love the outdoor firepit next to the river, Sunset Oasis Sinclair we love the view of the lake at any spot on the property, Whitetail Hideaway we love our deer and all the wildlife.
8. Are there any design elements in any of the houses you are particularly proud of? Each property has its own design and they are all different.
9. What is the most rewarding aspect of running this business, and the most challenging? The most rewarding thing is to read 5-star reviews when guests have had a memorable trip with friends and family. It makes all the work you put into your property worth it! The most challenging is when we miss something or mess up we want to know right away so we can do our best to correct the issue at the beginning of your stay and it doesn't affect your whole stay. If we don't know we can't fix it.
10. Do you have any future plans you would like to share with our audience? We have future plans to grow our properties in Georgia at this time. We have talked about Florida but we love being close to our properties so we can check-in and be sure they are being well taken care of for our guests.
