As much as we love cruising, traveling by ship is not always an option (especially during a global pandemic). While the world of cruising was shut down for more than a year, we spent some time exploring some other ways to enjoy a ship themed vacation, and we discovered there are so many interesting and unique boat themed vacation rentals on Airbnb that were definitely worth Seeking out!

This is a real US military submarine, the USS Cobia! The USS Cobia is the best preserved World War II submarine in the country. It has been meticulously restored with amenities added like heat and air conditioning, making it perfect for year-round overnight visits. Bring as little or as many people as you would like, with more than 50 different places to sleep, your entire family and friends will have a great time! Your stay includes your own exploration of the submarine, and overnight tours of the museum. Yes the museum has a theater you can use! The museum provides toiletries and bedding, and while the bathrooms on the submarine are not functional anymore, the museum has showers and restrooms. Breakfast and coffee is provided in the morning from a veteran owned coffee shop! Unfortunately, the USS Cobia is only accessible via stairs and there are seven bulkhead doors to climb through to navigate the entire boat. There is a private two-person hot tub at the Ark. We also have a shared hot tub located about 500 feet away situated on a deck over looking a beautiful creek.
