Lodge on Lake Nichols
Pavo, Georgia. 2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 12.
This 1950’s lodge sits on 350 acres!!! The entire property is privately owned and sits on Lake Nichols, which is loaded with largemouth bass, catfish, speckled perch, bream, and bluegill. Guests can expect to see bald eagles, osprey, and many more birds and creatures during their stay as well. The home was originally two different tobacco barns that the owners converted into one modern cabin. There is enough room for 3 boats to dock at the cabin and the fishing is top notch. Freedom Finder
Helen, Georgia. 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6.
This rustic cabin sits on 1.5 acres, giving guests a secluded and private stay. Enjoy two firepits, a hot tub, a wraparound porch, egg swings, a grill, outdoor dining, cornhole and a two-person hammock. The two-person hammock is coined “The Stargazer” as the night sky views are truly spectacular. For those who love being in nature and/or hiking, the cabin is close to Unicoi State Park, Smithgall Woods State Park, Anna Ruby Falls, and Moccasin Creek State Park. For those who savor time on the water, the property is conveniently located near lakes, rivers, and streams, and has trailer/boat parking on site. Sapelo Cabin
Sapelo Island, Georgia. 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6.
Step back in time at the Sapelo Cabin. Even though this cabin is newly constructed, it was built and decorated with reclaimed materials and rustic touches so guests will be immersed in the past. The home boasts a screened in porch, hammocks, rocking chairs, and a picnic table. The coolest part of the cabin is the indoor/outdoor fireplace that greets guests in the living room. Situated in the Historic Community of Hog Hammock and part of the Georgia Wildlife Management Area, the cabin has ample outdoor opportunities full of wildlife and historic sites. Big Creek Lodge
Mills River, North Carolina. 4 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, Sleeps 12.
This lodge sits in the middle of Pisgah National Forest near North Mills River Recreation Area providing guests with their own private haven. The property boasts a large screened-in porch that overlooks the home’s private pond. Guests should be sure to bring their fishing, hiking, or mountain biking gear as they will have direct access to Mills River and Ready Fork Creek. Even though the home sits in the middle of the woods, it is only 30 minutes to downtown Asheville and Brevard (two of our favorite stops)!! The Silo at Gene Acres

This beautiful grain bin silo nestled in the mountains of Northwest Georgia near Chattanooga, is the perfect memorable vacation home for your next getaway! Sitting on over 20 private acres, this stay gives guests plenty of space to explore. The inside of the silo has been beautifully repurposed by the owners, offering a beautiful master bedroom, updated kitchen and bathrooms, and a stackable washer and dryer. The home sits near many hiking and biking trails, as well as numerous bodies of water for fishing. If you enjoy hunting, there are also many great hunting opportunities in the area. Caper Cabin
Clayton, Georgia. 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6.
The Caper Cabin is located in Blackrock State Park giving guests over 1,700 acres to explore outdoors. On site, the home has an extra-large hot tub, outdoor shower, fire pit, dartboard, and grilling area. Near the home there are over 11 miles of hiking trails, waterfalls, and fishing spots. Taylor Creek is located within walking distance of the cabin and is well known for abundant Rainbow Trout. If guests would like a larger space to fish, Black Rock Lake has over 17 acres where guests will be sure to catch bass, panfish and catfish. The cabin is also near recreation and hunting areas. If you’ve read our blog before, you know we love a historical stay! This home was built 325 years ago and is located off the Cooper River. The property boasts live oak groves, trails, ponds, and direct river access via private dock so be sure to bring your fishing gear, paddle boats, and water gear. After a long day of exploring, guests can come home and sit by the fire pit to take in the sunset. Though the home was built in the late 17th century, it has been tastefully renovated, blending the structures rich history with modern amenities. Towaliga River Retreat

This is one of 14 cabins at Towaliga River Retreat, each of which has a view of Zellner Island and Juliette Damn from the front porch. The studio cabins give guests the chance to unwind and truly enjoy the outdoors. There are charcoal grills and a community fire pit as well as canoes and kayaks for guests to use. There are also plenty of boat trailer parking spaces if you plan on bringing your own boat. Not interested in fishing or boating? The cabins are situated near some of the best hiking trails, biking trails, kayaking, and canoeing in Middle Georgia. The Toccoa Riverfront cabin was completely remodeled to be the perfect getaway for friends or family. Inside the home there are two bedrooms that connect to the cabin’s porch, giving guests easy access to spend some time outdoors. Sitting on a flat piece of riverfront land, the home has ample parking, a large stone fire pit, and easy access to the water for boaters and fishers. The cabin is nestled about a mile into the Toccoa Canoe Trail and sits in the Chattahoochee National Forest, an oasis for hikers, bikers, hunters, and fishers. We can’t get over the views from Blue Moon Cabin!!! The home is newly constructed but still boasts the perfect blend of modern and rustic. This cabin is fantastic for multi-family stays or families with kids and there is an upstairs loft the kids are sure to love!! The home features large porches, a hot tub, comfy outdoor seating, and a big fire pit. The cabin is close to Lake Winfield Scott and is down the road from Vogel State Park, the Appalachian Trail, Coopers Creek and the Toccoa River. Gladstone Getaway is situated on three acres in a gated mountain community at Coosawattee River Resort. The home is three stories with a theater area, game room, hot tub, bunk room, wrap around porch, three decks, fire pit, outdoor grill, patio dining and hammocks. Guests can hike without ever leaving the property, including a lovely trail down to the creek. Since the home is in a resort, guests have access to 5 river parks for fishing with no license needed, a suspension bridge, and campsites. Nearby, you can enjoy Amicalola Falls, Cartecay River Tubing, Thunder River white water rafting, horseback riding, fishing, and hiking. Cool Change Cottage
Eastpoint, Florida. 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 6.
Cool Change Cottage is one of three cottages available for rent from the Forgotten Coast Cottages. All three homes are waterfront and an adventurer’s dream. Boats can be launched from Patton Road Boat ramp located just a few paces from the cottage. Fishers can enjoy catching redfish, seatrout, flounder, tripletail, and a variety of other species. Dive hunters will enjoy the area as well, known for its bed Redhead hunting.
